Upcoming seminar of PRIMUS Coordinator Steve Groom at PORTWIMS Summer School at the University of Lisbon, Portugal

A Summer School dedicated to enhance skills on blue entrepreneurship will be held just before the Lisbon United Nations Ocean Conference 2022, promoted by PRIMUS affiliated project PORTWIMS ( Portugal Twinning for innovation and excellence in marine science and Earth observation), organized by the MARE-UL (Portugal), PML (UK) and AWI (Germany), all three institutions broadly known for their marine research, technology transfer and blue entrepreneurship. The PORTWIMS Summer School is also supported by Portugal’s Direção Geral de Política do Mar - General Directorate of Marine Policy, and by the University of Lisbon.

The PORTWIMS Summer School includes the participation of keynote speakers from PRIMUS team, including Prof. Steve Groom (PML) who will give a talk on "Earth Observation Opportunities in Marine Science, from Ocean to Coast", and of highly relevant stakeholders in blue economy, from Venture Capital to intellectual property rights and case studies of technology transfer.

PORTWIMS is an H2020 Twinning project that aims at promoting marine science, technology, and innovation, particularly focusing on technology transfer, and stimulating startups, spinoffs and highly qualified jobs. This goal is to be achieved by dedicated initiatives, namely through summer schools which is now launched.
