The Trevor Platt Science Foundation (TPSF) is an international organisation established in 2021 to stimulate capacity building in science, research, and environment-related education with special focus on the oceans. The aim of this foundation is promoting a more sustainable governance of our planet for the future generations.
The TPS Foundation is now presenting its inaugural science symposium on “Trends, Reflections, Evolution, and Visions in Ocean Research” taking place from 7-11 August 2023 at the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) to celebrate the scientific life of Prof. Trevor Platt and carry forward his legacy in ocean research and international collaboration. PRIMUS members Prof. Shubha Sathyendranath, Dr. Thomas Jackson and Dr. Gemma Kulk are part of the organization committee, while PRIMUS PI Prof. Steve Groom (PML) will give a talk to present PRIMUS as an ESA-funded project aimed at advancing our existing understanding on the link between marine primary production and wind-forced upwelling in Atlantic EBUS. Dr. Gemma Kulk (PML) and Dr. Bror Jonsson (PML) will also present their work during the symposium’s poster session.
